Lazy Mornings At Frilly’s

Coffee and CakeCoffee at Frilly's

Some Darwin gems are found in the strangest places. Take Frilly’s (21 Cummins St, Rapid Creek; Saturday 9am-12pm), a tiny outdoor cafe at the Nightcliff Uniting Church. Named after the resident frilled neck lizards, this relaxing space is filled with locals sipping fair-trade coffee in mismatched cups and tucking into the range of homemade cakes. Frilly’s is self-sustaining through customer donations, so there’s no fixed prices. The church also runs a particularly great op shop (Fri 4-6.30pm & Sat 9am-12pm), as well as the Mulch Pit community food garden which often has working bees on at the same time.
